This highly practical two day Masterclass will be dedicated to understanding and performing TPLO surgery using radial cut and locking implants.
- Day 1: A full day of theory, plastic bone exercises and TPLO planning and templating.
- Day 2: Will be dedicated entirely to Cadaver Surgery exercises. Significant time will also be allocated to assessment and critique of post-op x-rays in order to minimise surgical inaccuracies in the future.
About Dr Lucas Beierer

Lucas graduated as a veterinarian from the University of Queensland and immediately undertook a rotating internship at Queensland Veterinary Specialists. Surgical internships then followed in Adelaide and Perth, part of which involved a tertiary qualification in adult education.
He undertook a residency in Small Animal Surgery at Murdoch University whilst also completing a Masters of Veterinary Surgery looking at the biomechanics of locking plates.
Lucas was accepted by examination as a Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (Surgery chapter) in 2011. He became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons – Small Animal in 2015 and an RCVS Recognised Specialist in Small Animal Orthopaedics in 2016. He has spent several years working in the Northwest of England prior to making the decision to return home to Brisbane. He has a broad array of surgical training and clinical experiences, enabling him to offer the very best to QVS clients and to his CPD students. He is certified to perform Total Hip Replacements and has extensive experience in minimally invasive traumatology.
About Dr Chris Tann

Chris is a specialist in small animal surgery based in Sydney, Australia.
He worked in both academia and private referral practice before launching My Surgical Coach, an innovative coaching program designed to bridge the gap between practical workshops and commencing new techniques in clinical practice.
Chris continues to hold academic appointments within the veterinary faculty at the University of Sydney and the medical faculty at the University of New South Wales where he continues teaching and contributing to research programs.
He currently sits on the education commission of AOVET, a not for profit organisation which aims to improve the outcomes of patients with orthopaedic disease across the globe.
